Trump accepted Machado’s Peace Prize medal

Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado has given her peace prize medal to Donald Trump at a meeting in Washington. Trump himself describes it as a gesture of honor and publicly thanks Machado, but the Nobel Committee rules that a Nobel Prize cannot be given away or transferred.

The incident has been met with harsh criticism in Norway, where experts call it pathetic and humiliating, and say it shows a lack of respect for the award. Professor Janne Haaland Matlary says that it is a pointless act and that it is the honor itself in receiving the prize that is important.

The White House: Trump should have the island – troops make no difference

Around 150 Danish military personnel have now arrived in Greenland, reports the Reuters news agency. Also Swedish, German, Norwegian, Finnish and French officers are now on the island. But the increased military presence does not affect Donald Trump’s goal of taking over Greenland, says White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt during a press conference.

During a meeting earlier this week in the White House between the Danish and Greenlandic foreign ministers and top US politicians, a working group was appointed, but the parties disagree on the purpose – the US wants to discuss an acquisition of Greenland, while Denmark states that the differences of opinion are fundamental.

Trump’s “rule of peace” designed

Donald Trump has created his “Board of Peace” for Gaza, he writes on Truth Social. The committee will be chaired by Donald Trump himself and include 15 world leaders. Among others, former British Prime Minister Tony Blair has been suggested.

The committee is supposed to oversee the technocratic government that, according to the peace plan, is to be installed in Gaza. “The members of the board will be announced shortly, but I can say with certainty that it is the largest and most prestigious board that has ever been assembled – at any time, anywhere,” Trump writes.
