New assault with attachment in Johanneshov – man arrested
A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated assault after attacking a 65-year-old man with a stick in Johanneshov in southern Stockholm.
– The man calls 112 and says he has been beaten, says Daniel Wikdahl, press spokesperson for the Stockholm police.
The police received the alarm shortly after 8 p.m. and called an ambulance, which took the beaten man to hospital.
– He mentions a person who allegedly exposed him to this and that person is found in the same building where the crime took place, says Daniel Wikdahl.
Is there any connection between them?
– It seems that they know each other in some way.
On Tuesday morning, two women were attacked by a masked perpetrator in the same district, even then the perpetrator used a weapon. In that case, the police suspect attempted murder.
Do you suspect him of this morning’s attack as well?
– Right now we are concentrating on this latter event. That is what he is arrested and suspected of. We have the previous event during the day in the back of our minds. Then we will see if it becomes relevant to work further with it in this matter.
Was the same type of cover used as in the previous attack?
– I’m not going into that right now.
