SVT’s program Agenda showed an AI-generated clip as if it were an authentic video, reports SVT Nyheter.

– It is unfortunate that we accidentally published an AI-generated clip. The audience must always be able to trust that images in Agenda are authentic, says Agenda’s responsible publisher Michael Kucera to SVT.

The clip showed what appeared to be a New York police officer scolding a person who works for the immigration agency ICE. The clip was broadcast in a feature that addressed the contradictions in the United States linked to the deportation of undocumented immigrants. The clip appeared both in Agenda’s intro and in the longer feature.

– We are now reviewing our procedures so that similar errors do not occur in the future, says Kucera.

The broadcast has been removed from SVT Play. The AI video will be cut, and a new version of the program will be published with a text correction.
