The electricity price is shining.

Tuesday evening, the electricity sometimes costs SEK 5.70 per kWh in the southern half of the country.

On Wednesday morning, it will still be expensive for those who have quartz prices, but not as bloody.

For those with quartz prices, those who have agreements where the electricity price is set every fifteen minutes, it will be a couple of expensive days. This is how it will be when the wind has been moaning, the sun has lost power and a lot of nuclear power is on repair.

Two and a half nuclear reactors of Sweden’s six are currently out of operation. The latest addition to reactors to repair is Ringhals 4 after a discovery leak on one of the generators. It will start on Tuesday, but it will take a while before it is in full operation.

Almost windy

At the same time, it is almost windy – in Sweden but especially in Germany – says Johan Sigvardsson, an analyst at the electricity trading company Bixia.

Gas- and oil-fired electricity generation is ready, but it also means that “fossil power will want to pay well to drive,” he writes in a comment on TT.

High German electricity prices, as usual, infect right into southern Sweden when electricity production is also smaller than normal here.

The average price during the Tuesday day in electricity areas 3 and 4 (Svealand and Götaland) is close to SEK 1.90 per kilowatt hour (kWh), with individual peaks of SEK 5.70 for individual quarters – that is, 15 -minute periods. In the northern half of the country, the daily price is between 18-30 öre, according to the pure electricity price on the electricity exchange Nord Pool.

New lesser top

On Wednesday morning, there will be a new price peak, albeit less, of up to SEK 3.50 per kWh at most. The daily price for Wednesday drops to SEK 1.20-1.40 when some wind returns and Ringhals 4 is expected to go up at full speed.

On top of the stock market price is added electricity tax, VAT and electricity grid fee of well over one krone per kWh.

The high temporary peaks mainly affect the electricity customers that have just quartz price agreements. The large majority of the customer collective has a variable monthly price and where the impact from the price peaks is considerably less.
