NEW YORK. The sickest decision of the decade?
Yes, probably Vegas forward Reilly Smith’s sudden death puck in empty box against San Jose last night claims that epithet.
The end of the season’s first discharge in Sharktank in San Jose was at all strikingly bizarre – and the home goalie Alex Nedeljkovic was in focus in a way he had certainly not hoped.
San Jose was in 3-2 lead with less than two minutes left and in a rush against the guests’ empty box, William Eklund would only hit the last nail in the coffin, but was prevented at the last possible moment-twice over.
The moment later Jack Eichel got the puck in the middle zone and sent away a wobbly lob through the home zone – which Nedeljkovic in some marvelous way managed to pull into his own bag.
A real nightmare – but that was just the heating act.
Less than a minute and a half into the extension, he stormed out of the goal cage to prevent Reilly Smith from getting out in free -standing, but back to it with the puck so that Smith could finally put the decision in the empty box.
Few have witnessed something similar …
For the blue -yellow sharks Alex Wennberg, John Klingberg and mentioned Eklund, it was guessing not much to comfort that earlier in the match they twisted together a Swedish goal together.
