The new AI mode that is now also being rolled out for Swedish Google users is based on a custom version of Google’s advanced Gemini models. The result is a search service that is capable of more advanced reasoning. This, in turn, means that the search service becomes better at understanding more complex issues in several parts. In addition, it will be possible to ask follow -up questions.

Google offers a blog post about the matter to an example where the user asks the question “How does the fermentation process differ between sourdough bread, kimchi and kombucha?” And then follow up with the question “What are there for other fermented foods that I may not know, and how do they differ?”

Can be asked questions with the voice

The AI mode is based on a technology that divides the issues into submissions and sends out a number of search queries simultaneously. The AI mode is also multimodally, which means that it is possible to ask questions both with text and with the voice. You can also use the camera on a mobile phone, or upload images to the AI-search service and ask questions about them.

It should be noted that the AI response is not always reliable, and it is important to review the information carefully, just as when it comes to information from AI chat bots.

The roll-out in the Swedish market begins today, and as soon as the AI search becomes available, the function will emerge as a tab on the search response page. However, it may take somewhat before everyone has access to the function.
