“Music Aid” will be broadcast this year from Stora Torget in Karlstad between December 1 and 7. It will be the first time the city has been visited by the event, which since 2008 has raised money for charity.

Education is not a matter of course for 234 million children and young people in countries affected by disasters and war. Over 85 million children do not attend school at all, says Radio Aid.

“Schooling is more than just education for a child in war and conflicts, for example in Gaza, Ukraine or Sudan. The school contributes to both a safer everyday life, and a safer future. When children are educated, the entire community benefits,” said Radio Aid Secretary -General Kristina Henschen in a press release.

The money goes, among other things, to create temporary classrooms for children on the run and to particularly vulnerable groups in crises, such as children with disabilities.
