11,000 Swedish men are affected by prostate cancer each year.

Now Bergsåker’s trot track is collecting money in the fight against the disease.

– It is a matter of course for me to put up in the mustache fight, says coach Markus Pihlström.

Prostate cancer accounts for 29 percent of all cancer cases in men.

30 Swedish men are diagnosed every day.

Of course, money is required for research in the struggle to develop today’s treatment methods.

The Mustache fight is the Prostate Cancer Association’s own campaign. In November it is time again.

The struggle mixes humor with seriousness to contribute to research, development and better care.

– But of course it is also about the knowledge of Sweden’s most common cancer disease, says Johan Sundberg.

He has been back as CEO of the country’s largest trot track in November last year.

So in November, the mustache fight will start again.

– We think it is important to raise money for the research, says Johan Sundberg.

On November 8, Bergsåker will host V75.

– It will be a special day for all of us, says Sundberg. We have worked hard for a long time to make it as good as possible.

The professional coach: “A matter of course”

Bergsåker’s trot track will raise money for the mustache fight.

It is about different events.

Bergsåker’s CEO says that the track has already raised SEK 180,000.

– It is money that comes from our sponsor race, says Johan Sundberg.

– It comes more. We work hard to get as much money as we can.

During the V75 competitions there will be a number of events on the track.

– We will donate money through everything from entrance fees to experiences and auctions, says Sundberg. There is a big heart in the people in Medelpad. There are hotel packages, paintings, hockey jerseys. It’s a lovely mix of most things.

Professional coach Markus Pihlström is one of Bergsåkerstravet’s successful coaches. In 2025, his stable earned over SEK 5 million

– I think it is a matter of course to stand for such a good thing, says Pihlström

-I have donated a part in a cooperative horse and will also show guests Stallbacken during the V75 round. It feels so important that we help with this collection in the fight against prostate cancer.
