Worse situation for electric cars: “Lower tax on diesel”

The government wants to lower the electricity tax to encourage more people to choose electric cars. But the reduction is criticized for being so small that it has no effect. In addition, taxes on gasoline and diesel have been lowered, making electric cars less attractive.

So far this year, 35 percent of new cars sold have been electric. This is an increase compared to 32 percent in the same period the previous year.

But according to Mobility Sweden, it is also lower than what it looked like in the first half of 2023 when 37 percent of all new cars were electric cars.
