Won the must-win match – after Lundquist’s big play

Loss to Germany.

Today the Swedish revenge came – after a great game from Klara Lundquist.

Sweden defeated Great Britain in the must-win match in the European Championship.

Less than a day ago, Germany won against Sweden 89-76.

It meant win or lose in the second group stage match of the European Basketball Championship against Great Britain.

It was a victory – a very clear one.

The numbers were written to 75–66 after Klara Lundquist became the top scorer with her 20. She also grabbed eleven rebounds.

Decide in the third quarter

Blågult started off rather weakly and fell behind early. It was only at the end of the second quarter that they caught up, 31–31.

After that, there was no talk. The third quarter was Sweden’s absolute best, star Klara Lundquist led the team, and the match was decided there when they ran over their opponents. Great Britain crept closer in the final minutes, but there was never any drama.

– Sweden is better for 40 minutes. When they got the game under control, they were clearly better. Now they actually have a chance to advance to the next round, says expert Nick Rajacic in SVT.

To advance, Sweden now needs to beat Spain the day after tomorrow to have a chance to advance from the group.

– We will do everything to win, says Matilda Ekh in SVT.
