Wanted to celebrate with son – stopped by guard
GENEVA. Filippa Angeldahl became a great hero against Denmark.
After the final whistle, she celebrated with her son – until a guard stopped her.
– Children were not allowed on the field. It was sad, but we got a little time together, she tells Sportbladet.
It is a tired but happy Filippa Angeldahl who arrives at the interview microphone after the opening victory against Denmark.
The midfielder scored the only goal of the match with her one-year-old son Aston in the stands – a moment she describes as “proud”.
– I’ve missed him, then I see him in the stands and he’s running around, Angeldahl says with a smile.
– It’s a goal you’ve had, to be able to hug him after matches. Incredibly fun.
“A lot of emotions”
When Angeldahl, who was named player of the match, tried to celebrate with his son on the pitch after the final whistle, UEFA security guards quickly arrived.
You were stopped by a guard?
– Yes, you weren’t allowed on the field. Children weren’t allowed. So it was sad, but we got a little time together anyway.
Getting the decisive goal meant a lot to Angeldahl.
– An enormous joy, there are a lot of emotions that come out. This is what we have dreamed of, to get the championship started and take three points, she says and tells what happens next:
– Just go home, recharge and have fun. Just work again.
Enjoy the moment?
– Yes, we will!
