Trump’s smackdown of Musk: “Very disappointed”

Donald Trump takes a dig at his old running mate Elon Musk – after the Tesla founder vetoed the government’s budget proposal.

At the end of May, Tesla founder Elon Musk left his role as an advisor to Donald Trump. For a few months, he was the face of the agency “DOGE”, which was tasked with cutting government spending.

The official reason for his resignation was that as a “special government employee” he was only allowed to work for 130 days and that his days were now numbered.

Musk has since criticized Trump’s budget proposal, which recently passed the House of Representatives, calling it a “disgusting abomination.”

“Call your senator, call your congressman, it is NOT okay to bankrupt the United States. KILL the BILL!”, he wrote in a post on X.

Trump: “Disappointed in him” 

Now Trump is speaking out about Musk at a press conference and says he is disappointed in his old advisor. Trump says Musk got angry when the government decided to end subsidies for electric cars.

– I am very disappointed in him, says Trump at a press conference.

He also says Musk will likely go after him personally.

– He hasn’t said anything bad about me so far, but I’m sure he will.

Comments on the blue tira

When Musk was dismissed from the White House on May 30, he appeared in a blue shirt. The explanation was that he had been messing with his son.

– I asked him if he wanted some makeup, he said ‘I don’t think so’, which is an interesting answer, Trump said at the press conference, not specifying what he meant.

Furthermore, Trump says they had a good relationship.

– Elon and I had a fantastic relationship, but I don’t know if it’s that good anymore.

Musks svar: ”Whatever” 

Elon Musk gives quick response to speech after Donald Trump’s dismissal of his budget criticism.

“Whatever. Keep the cut solar and electric car incentives, even if no oil and gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!), but remove the mountain of disgusting pork in the budget proposal,” he writes on X.

Musk has previously said that there have been some “differences of opinion” between him and the Trump administration.

– I’m in a bit of a bind, he said in an interview with CBS News at the end of May.
