HÖRBY/STOCKHOLM. On Tuesday, a mother and her son were found dead in a townhouse area in Hörby.
A man is arrested for the suspected double murder and the residents of the area are in shock.
– It’s too damned, damn it, says neighbor Claes Nilsson.
The alarm to the police came after school staff sounded the alarm that the child was missing.
When the police and ambulance arrived at the home, the woman and the child were found dead. According to information to Expressen, it is a mother and her ten-year-old son. The deaths are being investigated as homicides.
At 2 pm on Tuesday, a man was arrested as a suspect in the murders. Later in the afternoon, he was arrested following a decision by the prosecutor.
At the same time, the residential area is characterized by shock and sadness. During the day, residents gathered to light candles at the barriers.

The neighbor: “It’s too damned”
Claes Nilsson, who lived in the area for 13 years, describes the mother as a very popular neighbor.
– She was the nicest thing you could ever meet, incredibly kind. It shone about her. She was social and always had time to stop by. It was impossible to do anything but like her, he says.
He also talks about the relationship between the mother and the son.
– She could be out playing football with her son.
Claes also describes the insecurity.
– A neighbor rang last night. She didn’t dare go out with the dog, she felt insecure. It’s too damned, damn it, says Claes Nilsson.

Many were shocked
Another neighbor describes both the woman and the boy as open and friendly.
– They always said hello and we talked a little. The boy was great. The man was also very nice.
Several of the other neighbors do not want to say anything. They are visibly taken, some with tears in their eyes.
– In the shock, we talked a lot yesterday, but it’s only now that it has landed a little. Today I don’t want to say anything at all, says another resident.
After the incident, all of Hörby’s schools have deployed extra staffing, writes Skånska Dagbladet. The municipality’s crisis support is also activated for people who need conversation support or community.
Hörby municipality is holding a press conference at 2 pm on Wednesday to inform about the continued work.
