Three life-threatening injuries after single-vehicle accident outside Gävle
Three people are life-threateningly injured after a single-vehicle accident north of Gävle.
A woman in her 25s has been arrested.
– She is suspected of aggravated drunk driving, says Joar Källman, commander of the police command center.
The accident happened on a highway just north of Gävle at around 2am on Friday night. A car went off the road and crashed into a tree.
– Three people were taken to hospital by ambulance. Their injuries are life-threatening, says Joar Källman, commander of the police command center.
Another person, a woman in her 25s, was in the car.
– It’s the driver. She has been arrested for aggravated drunk driving, aggravated reckless driving and causing the death of another person, says Joar Källman.
The reason for the classification as causing death is that the people have life-threatening injuries, according to the police.
– They are fighting for their lives, says Joar Källman.
The arrested woman is “not seriously injured” and was examined at the scene by an ambulance.
The car has been seized for technical examination.
