This is how the police prepare for the Bilderberg Group meeting in Stockholm
Concrete sows and riot fences.
Here, police preparations are underway for the secretive elite network Bilderberg Group’s meeting at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm.
But who will participate is still shrouded in mystery.
The entire Grand Hôtel in Stockholm is booked out between Tuesday and Saturday this week. The Bilderberg Group will hold its annual meeting there, according to The Guardian, among others.
It is the first time in over 20 years that it has been held in Sweden.
The police, who do not comment on who the organizer is, have a special incident in connection with the event. The operation will take place mainly in the inner city of Stockholm and will to some extent cooperate with Säpo.
– We are preparing for a private meeting between June 12 and 15, when many security personnel may come. We have a police operation to ensure order and security, Stockholm Police spokesman Per Fahlström previously told Expressen.
On Tuesday, police began erecting barriers around the hotel on Blasieholmen in central Stockholm. The riot fence made way for concrete slags lifted by a truck to be placed in front.
Facts: The Bilderberg Group
The Bilderberg Group was founded in 1954 with the aim of promoting dialogue between Europe and North America and each year brings together around a hundred leading figures in politics, business and research at a luxury hotel somewhere in Europe or North America, where current issues are discussed.
In Madrid last year, AI, climate and the war in Ukraine were on the agenda, among other things.
This year is the first time since 2001 that the meeting has been held in Sweden. The police’s efforts are mainly taking place in Stockholm city.
The group is surrounded by great secrecy, which has given rise to conspiracy theories on both the right and the left.
Secret guest list
A number of Swedes have participated in the group’s meetings around the world over the years. Last year’s gathering in Madrid included Spotify founder Daniel Ek, former Foreign Minister Ann Linde and entrepreneur Marcus Wallenberg.
But who will participate in the meeting in Stockholm is not yet known.
However, it is said that Sweden’s NATO negotiator Oscar Stenström and his boss, the business leader Jacob Wallenberg, were behind the subscription of Grand Hôtel, according to The Guardian.
Major demonstration planned
In an email to Expressen, the Bilderberg Group has previously written that they will release information close to the meeting taking place.
“We will publish where we will be, the agenda and a list of participants.”

Last week, the police had received two applications for demonstration permits in connection with the meeting.
One demonstration, “with a speech against the Bilderberg meeting,” is planned to be held on Saturday with a march from Norrmalm Square to the Grand Hôtel. The organizer expects around 1,000 participants.
