The war of words: “I’m not throwing anyone under the bus”

A major row has broken out between the editors-in-chief of Dagens Industri and Handelsbanken’s major news venture EFN after several top journalists left Di for the competitor. “We will become a threat,” says the upstart.

The news on Tuesday hit like a bomb in the duck pond that is the Swedish news industry. Anders Hägerstrand, one of Dagens Industri’s biggest profiles, is leaving the business newspaper after fourteen years of faithful service to become the new editor-in-chief of Handelsbanken’s revived financial news initiative EFN.

And the next day came the news that the high-profile reporter Patrik Höiseth was also leaving Di to join EFN.
