The minister’s attack on the activists: “You are behaving like pigs”
Minister of Civil Affairs Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M) is furious at the Palestine activists who on Wednesday sought out top politicians in high-profile confrontations – including at the Foreign Minister’s home.
“You are dividing and destroying our Swedish society,” he writes on X. “What the hell are you accusing me of?”
Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) was subjected to a threatening incident on Wednesday evening where people entered her stairwell and put up posters with political messages about the Gaza conflict.
On Wednesday, SD leader Jessica Stegrud was also confronted by a Palestine activist who was demonstrating outside the Riksdag.
Kristersson: “Threat to democracy”
After the events, Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson spoke out and warned the activists against taking the Middle East conflicts to Swedish streets.
“It is also a threat to democracy and it has no place in our country. A heavy responsibility now rests on those who, by spreading lies, terrorist romanticism and anti-Semitism, polarize and whip up hateful sentiments in Sweden,” he said in a message to Expressen.

Targets multiple groups
On Thursday, his government colleague, Minister of Civil Affairs Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M), also issued a sharp statement.
“You are dividing and destroying our Swedish society,” he writes on X.

In the post, Carl-Oskar Bohlin lists the groups he is targeting:
“You who unprovokedly attack members of our highest elected assembly. You who set yourself above domestic peace and attack the homes of government ministers. You who throw wood at elected officials. You who scream and act like pigs. You who believe that the right to be heard also includes the right to threaten and unprovokedly become physical with other people,” he writes.

Puts responsibility on S and V
He also sends sharp criticism towards parts of the left that he believes encourage and support the activists.
“Former Social Democratic ministers are cheering. Current members of parliament from the Left Party are arm in arm with said activists.”

The minister urges the parties to distance themselves from, for example, anti-Semites and people who romanticize terror.
