The authorities’ help to Ismail Abdo during the escape

Premium Gang leader Ismail “Jordgubben” Abdo is an internationally wanted man and one of Sweden’s most feared criminals.

In the midst of the hunt, he has voluntarily contacted the Swedish Tax Agency, told them where he is – and received help with important documents.

Expressen’s investigation also shows how the authority ignored several alarms about Abdo for a long time.

As late as the end of 2024, he received help in another case concerning his family. At the end of May 2024, Ismail Abdo was arrested by Turkish police. He was armed with a loaded gun and wearing a bulletproof vest, but was released after paying the equivalent of around 6,500 kronor in bail.
