Police chase on the E6 – car drove in the wrong direction
During the night, a car drove in the wrong direction on the E6. The car drove all the way from Strömstad down to Stenungsund.
– It is a distance that the car drives which is six, eight miles, says officer on duty Martin Hallberg.
The police received the alarm shortly after a quarter past twelve at night when people call in about a “wobbly ride”. When the police try to locate the car, they see the car driving southbound in the northbound lane.
– The speed they drive at is around 130-140 kilometers per hour and there is quite a lot of traffic, trucks and other things, given the time, says Hallberg.
Police chase the car and try to stop it at several posted stops, but without success.
– At Uddevalla, all traffic south of Stenungsund stops, as best as possible, but they still meet cars.
Finally the car stops and two Norwegians are arrested.
– They are suspected of gross drunken driving, gross negligence in traffic, causing danger to others and drug offences.
