Suspect Arrested in Vienna for 13-Year-Old Murder Case

A 26-year-old man was shot dead at a tram stop in Gothenburg 2012.

Thirteen years later, a thread peak has been arrested in Vienna, suspected of the murder.

He was arrested in his absence in March and has since been internationally wanted.

It was at 22 o’clock in the evening in September 2012 that the 26-year-old man went down to the tram stop at Briljantgatan in Frölunda.

Two darkly dressed and masked people came on a moped, parked them and went to the 26-year-old, who was then on the tram tracks.

There he was shot with several shots.

When the two perpetrators fled the scene, the shot remained. His life could not be saved.

Arrested in Vienna

On Friday, a man was arrested in Austria’s capital Vienna suspected of the murder.

He was arrested in his absence in March this year in Gothenburg District Court and has since been internationally wanted.

He is also suspected of attempted murder against others who risked meet.

According to the police, the man has a “prominent position in the criminal environment”.

The prosecutor will request him extradited.
