The autumn frost has taken hold of almost all of Sweden.
But in parts of Skåne it is still meteorological summer.
– The last day was a little too hot there, states meteorologist Johan Groth at Stormgeo.
In southernmost Sweden, the last few days have seen autumn weather with daily temperatures below ten degrees.
But on Wednesday it got warmer again – and autumn will have to wait a while longer.
– I think it’s a bit silly. I think everyone who lives in Skåne thinks it’s autumn, but the meteorological autumn won’t arrive, in my educated guess, before we’ve entered November, says Johan Groth at Stormgeo.
Sweden now has three meteorological seasons. Summer in the far south, autumn in most of the country and in the mountain range, and in the far north it is winter. This is usually the case every year, according to the meteorologist, but this year “autumn is a little behind” in the far south.
– Autumn in the whole country – it always will be. Sooner or later, says Groth.
Risk of slipping
In several places in Norrland and in western Svealand, the night to Friday can be a cold one. Once the rain passes, it looks like it will clear up, and with clearer weather, the risk of it freezing up and becoming slippery tonight and tomorrow morning also increases.
– Many roads have time to dry, but locally it can be a little slippery, so it can be good to be observant and careful, especially for anyone who still has summer tires in the south.
After that, it will be a Friday with a weak high pressure and chances of sun in the west, south and in the mountain range – and weather that is suitable for outdoor play.
– For those who are going out and fooling around, it will be good, so it is just as good to load up with sweets at home, says Johan Groth at Stormgeo.
