Stahre: “Need to work after this party”

He made a grand entrance in a helicopter in front of 270 invited guests.

Mikael Stahre turns 50 and celebrated with a four-day party in Marbella.

– It was a fucking party, says the coach.

The football party of the year has been chosen. Mikael Stahre didn’t skimp on the powder during this weekend’s 50th birthday celebration in Marbella.

The coach, and now the Sportbladet profile, celebrated for four days with almost 300 guests in Marbella.

A party he has been planning for years.

– I’ve always wanted to have a big party. I like to plan things and I decided when I turned 40 that I would have a really big 50th birthday party. That’s been a goal, he says.

In attendance were friends and family, but also large parts of the football establishment with former players, sports directors, club employees and journalists. The guest list included Björn Wesström, Jörgen Lennartsson, Mikael Hjelmberg, Thomas Berntsen, Thomas Lagerlöf, Karin Frick, Peter Abrahamsson and SVT journalist Carolina Neurath.

– I thought 70-80 would come, it turned out to be 270. It will be a significantly larger apparatus with 270 people. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have performance anxiety before, but it turned out to be great. Today, when it’s all over, I feel like I’ve played a championship, I’m completely drained, says Stahre.

“A fucking limbo competition”

Thursday began with meetings in smaller groups and mingling at Stahre’s house. On Friday, it was “sports Friday” where guests could choose between golf, powerwalk, padel or “pubsport” and then “happiness and bubbles” awaited at Stefano Catenacci’s restaurant. On Saturday, the big party took place. Stahre arrived at the golf club in Marbella by helicopter before the festivities began.

However, it was not on the birthday child’s own initiative.

– Well, damn it. It was a gift I got. The helicopter ride itself was appreciated, but that’s not how I had planned to make my entrance. It doesn’t fit with my humble outlook on life, he says.

Jonas Dahlqvist was the emcee for the evening, which featured a sing-along, limbo competition and surprises.

– It was a fucking limbo competition. The girls went all in. It was a fucking party.

How many hours have you spent planning?

– I can’t judge that, but it’s at least a 75 percent service.

And how many millions did it cost?

– No, no, no. I’ve had to save up a little, and above all I need to work after this party. It’s definitely been expensive, but it’s been a priority. What’s cost the most is the commitment from my friends. I have a handful who have helped me and put a lot of effort into this.

Sports managers are the best at partying

According to sources at Sportbladet, there were plans to hire Samantha Fox to perform, but when the star heard how many guests were on the list, she shockingly raised the price.

– I can confirm that both Dr. Alban and Samantha Fox were on the invitation list, but I couldn’t make it financially.

Who was the best at the party?

– I would say Jonas Dahlqvist. He really raised the bar on Saturday. There was a lot of humor. Then I also think that Wesström, Hjelmberg, Erik Friberg, Thomas Bernsten Filip Berglund and Henrik Jurelius lived up to expectations and maintained the dignity of sports managers. They contributed to a high standard on all levels.
