Xi to Trump: “We should be partners”

During the night’s meeting between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump, the Chinese president said that it is “no wonder that from time to time there is friction between the world’s two leading economies”, a reference to the countries’ ongoing trade war.

– But China and the US should aim to be partners and friends, Xi told Trump.

146 years in prison for Hollywood profile

On November 13, 2021, 24-year-old model Christy Giles and 26-year-old architect Hilda Marcela Cabrales-Arzola were at a party together in Los Angeles. There the friends met film producer David Brian Pearce.

He invited the women to his residence in Beverly Hills. There, Pearce drugged Giles and Cabrales-Arzola with GHB and fentanyl, according to prosecutors.

When the women were dumped at two different hospitals eleven hours later, Giles was already dead. Cabrales-Arzola died in hospital later that month.

Pearce was arrested the following month. The investigation revealed that he had also committed drug-related rapes against numerous women between 2007 and 2020, according to ABC7 Los Angeles.

On Wednesday, 43-year-old Pearce was sentenced to 146 years in prison for the murders of Giles and Cabrales-Arzola and several counts of sexual assault.

“You are the worst kind of criminal,” Judge Eleanor Hunter told Pearce as she handed down the sentence.
