The Social Democrats have rejected accusations that semi-anonymous accounts are used to spread political content on social media.
Now, however, TV4 Nyheterna can show that the accounts were created within the framework of a digital investment, financed by the party.
This week, TV4 Nyheterna revealed that the Social Democrats spread political content and on social media via their company AiP Media Produktion AB, without it always being clear that it is the company that is the sender.
The review has drawn harsh criticism, not least from the right, where several representatives have accused S of deliberately misleading and trying to circumvent the rules.
“You remember the social democratic falsetto about SD’s so-called troll factories? Now it appears that the Social Democrats themselves have taken it a step further“, among other things, the Minister for Civil Defense Carl-Oskar Bohlin (M) wrote on X on Monday.
Included in “major digital investment”
S party secretary Tobias Baudin has rejected the accusations. He believes that it is editorial material and that it is certainly clear that AiP is behind the content.
– It is very important when you spread this that it should be clear that it is AiP Media that is behind this, and it is something that is also being done, he has told TV4.
Now, however, the TV channel can demonstrate that the auditing accounts were created within the framework of a “major digital investment” that S has paid for. TV4 has seen AiP’s annual reports between 2021 and 2024, where it appears that the purpose of the investment was, among other things, to reach out to new target groups and to develop “new channels and methods”.
– Yes, we receive grants from the Social Democrats to strengthen the digital presence and support progressive perspectives on social media and in the public debate. But it’s not about getting in and controlling in detail or making a selection of which questions or topics are to be raised, AiP’s CEO Daniel Färm has previously told the television channel.
