The police are investigating aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated rape after one or more perpetrators forced their way into a villa in Huskvarna late on Saturday evening.
An 85-year-old woman was there.
It is the fourth similar incident in the area in two weeks.
The perpetrators stole valuables from the residence which they then left.
The police were called to the address at 01:00 on Sunday night.
– Based on the information we have, they must have forced their way in and been there for a long time and gained access to various valuables, says Martina Gradian, spokesperson for the police region East.
Aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated rape
The case is being investigated as aggravated robbery and attempted aggravated rape.
– There can be several reasons why a crime is classified as serious. It could be that you used an excuse that you threaten with or that the plaintiff is in a particularly vulnerable position, says Martina Gradian.
The residence has been cordoned off for a technical examination.
Fourth case
A large police operation has been underway during the night. This was the fourth time in a short time that this type of crime has affected the elderly in and around Huskvarna. The first case occurred on the night of New Year’s Eve, the second on January 7 and the third on January 8.
– In all cases, there are robberies or attempted robberies using similar methods of elderly women in private homes.
No one was seriously injured in any of the cases. The police are investigating whether there is a connection.
– Since there are now four events that took place in this short time in this geographical location with this approach, we put them into a whole, says Martina Gradian.
No one is arrested.
The police urge anyone who has seen or heard anything unusual in the area around Huskvarna to contact them on 114 14.
