Peter Wettergren becomes the new assistant coach at Malmö FF.

– It feels fantastic to work in such a super professional environment and to come to one of Sweden’s biggest clubs, he tells the club’s website.

Sportbladet was recently able to reveal that Peter Wettergren has agreed with Malmö FF to take on the role of new assistant coach.

This is now confirmed by the club.

– Peter has experience and knowledge that is at the highest level. His leadership and clarity are a contributing factor to our recruiting him. In addition, he is a wonderful person who creates a nice energy in the group and has a relationship with the players that makes them feel involved and important at all times, says Ola Toivonen, assistant sports director to the club’s website.

Wettergren was previously assistant to Janne Andersson in the men’s national team. Since the end of 2023, he has worked as technical director at the Swedish Football Association.

– It feels fantastic to work in such a super professional environment and to come to one of Sweden’s biggest clubs. The team has been through a tough period during the spring, but that’s how it works and you can’t always be at the top of a series. Then it’s about rolling up your sleeves even more and working really hard every training session, says Wettergren.
