Overload attack against SVT – switched to backup site

On Sunday evening, SVT was subjected to an overload attack.

At 9 pm, over 1000 people reported problems. News, reports and analyses in Sweden and around the world.

The problems occurred sometime around 9 p.m. Users who wanted to access SVT Play were met with the text “the page could not be loaded.” Nearly 1,000 people reported problems on the site downdetector.se.

The problems continued late into the evening and svt.se also crashed.

– There are technical problems because we are exposed to a denial-of-service attack. Troubleshooting is ongoing and we hope to be able to resolve it as soon as possible, says Anna Wilborg at SVT’s press desk.

At 11:30 p.m., the technical problems at svt.se persist and a backup site is being used instead.

“Right now, not everything is working as usual. We are working on resolving it.”, the website states.
