Norwegian mass after Clark Olofsson’s death
Clark Olofsson is dead.
Norwegian media also reports on the death.
But wasn’t it Clark Olofsson who was allowed to illustrate the news?
The death of one of Sweden’s most notorious criminals, Clark Olofsson, has become news even outside Sweden’s borders. As one of two robbers involved in the Norrmalmstorg tragedy – which gave rise to the internationally known term “Stockholm Syndrome” – the news of his death has been reported by the BBC, among others.
But when “Kveldsnytt” on Norwegian NRK reported on it, it was completely wrong.
– Swedish criminal Clark Olofsson has died, aged 78. Olofsson was known as a notorious criminal and became particularly famous for a bank robbery in Stockholm in 1973, says the news anchor, while clip art shows a man who is supposed to portray Clark Olofsson.
But the man in the pictures is instead Olofsson’s partner from the Norrmalmstorgsdrama, Janne Olsson. A little later in the segment, however, the Norwegian channel shows pictures from the hostage drama itself, where Clark Olofsson himself is also seen.
Janne Olsson is still alive, 84 years old.
