Election 2026

Here is the Liberals’ new disaster assessment.

The party would get 1.4 percent of the vote if there were an election today.

It is the lowest support for an established parliamentary party ever, says Ekot.

Exactly two weeks ago, the Liberals got their worst result ever in an opinion poll. 1.8 percent.

Now it looks even worse. In a new measurement, made by Indikator för Ekot, the slide continues. At 1.4 percent, the parliamentary barrier looks even more difficult to reach. The support is the lowest ever measured for an established parliamentary party.

– In the compilations that exist of historical measurements, I have not been able to find any figure that is lower, says Per Oleskog Tryggvason, head of opinion at Indikator.

– These are real disaster figures for the Liberals.

The reduction is statistically guaranteed.

Difficult situation

Per Oleskog Tryggvason believes that the explanation for the enormous decline lies, among other things, in the fact that the “messy world situation” makes it difficult for party leader Simona Mohamsson to be seen.

– The month has been characterized by a lot of uncertainty around the world, with a lot of focus on the government and above all on Prime Minister Kristersson. It does not benefit the Liberals, he says.

L leader Simona Mohamsson does not want to comment on the new figures. Party secretary Fredrik Brange says that the state of public opinion is serious and has been for a long time.

– The Liberals have shown in the past that we can turn difficult situations around, and we are determined to do so even now. The election is decided on election day, he says.

Luf’s chairman Anton Holmlund also states that the Liberals are in a difficult situation.

– We will fight from a disadvantage during the election campaign. The whole party bears the responsibility for turning this around and we will have to work hard to show why the Liberals are needed in Swedish politics and turn this around by election day, he says.

KD under the bar

The Liberals are not the only party having a tough time in public opinion right now. The Green Party also stands for a statistically assured decline. From 6.4 to 4.7 percent. And the Christian Democrats are once again under the parliamentary barrier, at 3.9 percent.

In the last survey, the Center Party fell under the barrier, but they are now up by 1.5 percentage points, to 5.3 percent.

For other parties, the difference from the previous month is small.
