Russian threat to Sweden: “No doubt about it”
Maria Zakharova, spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, attacked Sweden on Saturday night. She accused Sweden of expelled a journalist from the Russian state-controlled TV channel VGTRK on incorrect grounds.
“Swedish authorities prevented a Russian VGTRK journalist from fulfilling their professional duty,” Zakharova writes on telegrams.
She claimed that the journalist, who was not named, would have been expelled because the person’s “health insurance is not valid in Sweden”.
“Although the Russian correspondent had all the necessary documents being arrested, was finally interrogated and expelled the person. Will there be retaliation measures? No doubt about it,” Zakharova writes.
None of Zakharova’s claims have been verified, according to Norwegian Dagbladet.
