It’s been almost two years since I started my blog with “To myself. When you read this in a few years. Remember that this was exactly when the coronavirus broke out in Sweden.”
Now, two years later, we finally have a feeling that there is an end to this long, horrible pandemic, the extent of which we did not understand then, in March 2020. Two years of worry, death and sadness that have finally been exchanged for acclimatization and new ways to walk…and then Putin wakes up under his stone in the forest. Back to the state of worry, death and sadness
To myself.
When you read this in a few years. Remember this was just when the war in Ukraine broke out.
With a certain uneasiness in our stomachs, we packed the car when Majk came home from work. In Katrineholm we had dinner and by the time we parked the car in Linköping it was getting close to 9pm. We were both very tired. The evening didn’t get much later there in the outdoor area right next to old Linköping.
The following morning we took a walk up to the Gamla Linköping open-air museum. The last time we were there, the streets were buzzing with life in the old-fashioned Christmas market. Now it was early. Shops and flaneurs hadn’t woken up yet. After we had shopped inside Cloetta’s factory store, we moved on.
Now we set our sights on the Göta canal and the area around Berg’s locks. First we explored Vreta monastery church and Vreta monastery ruins. Then we spied in, or out because we didn’t get in, Stjärnorp’s castle ruins and Stjärnorp’s ravine. Before we moved on, we also looked at the parking area down in the lock area, but apart from the fact that it was closed, it was far from attractive at this time of year. Instead, we drove back towards Linköping. We had selected a few freecamping sites in Park4Night that we wanted to take a closer look at, but it turned out that the first one was completely in radio shadow (I wanted a connection this evening), the second sloped way too much and we didn’t feel welcome at the third. We then decided to city camp again, but this night in Norrköping.
All the times we have spent the night at the pitch inside Norrköping, we have been the only camping vehicle. So also this time. However, the pitch is so centrally located that you don’t feel alone. There is movement outside the car almost around the clock as it is a fairly large car park where the pitch is housed. As with our last visit, we set up after 3pm, when parking is free, and then had a few hours to relax before walking down to the town center for dinner at O’Leary’s. Satisfied and happy, we ended the evening with mello in the car. A nice way to shut out the misery of the world for a few hours.
Of course, Majk has made a film from the weekend. Welcome!
