70,000 emails have been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the occasion of the Gaza cone.

Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) is now harshly criticized the campaign.

– When you call and block the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, you risk the health of Swedes who have been completely unchanged, she says.

The Foreign Minister has previously called on the convoy, where Greta Thunberg and several other Swedes were on board, to turn around. After the vessels have been boarded and activists deported from Israel, Malmer Stenergard re -pronounces.

– Global Sumud Flotilla went against Gaza again with the same result as last – no emergency help came to the civilian population in Gaza with its vessels, she said in a statement.

She emphasizes the activists’ own responsibility for the trip, but also says that the government has had contact with Israel to point out the importance of treating Swedish citizens well.

The activists have also received consular support from the Embassy in Tel Aviv, which has been strengthened with specially trained staff from Stockholm.

70,000 emails to UD

But Maria Malmer Stenergard is critical of what she describes as campaigns that have been started with calls to email and call the convoy.

So far, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received over 70,000 emails.

– There are Swedes around the world who need different types of consular support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs but who did not themselves in danger, unlike these people. When you call and block the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, you risk the health of Swedes who have been completely uninhibited, says Malmer Stenergard.

The activists sailed against Gaza with the goal of breaking the blockade against Gaza but was stopped and arrested by the Israeli fleet last week.

Subsequently, they were held in the desert prison ketziot, from where there were reports that Greta Thunberg has, among other things, complained of dehydration and bedbugs. There have also been reports that she was forced to kiss the Israeli flag, and that other Swedish activists have been denied medicine.

Greta Thunberg himself said after being deported and landed in Athens that states have an obligation to intervene against what is happening in Gaza.

“There is a genocide in front of our eyes,” she said.
