TV4’s meteorologist Linda Eriksson is leaving the channel after over ten years.
It was announced to the employees in an internal email on Wednesday.
“The reason why she quits has nothing to do with redundancy,” the email states.
TV4 The weather has had a proper makeover.
After the turn of the year, the channel stops broadcasting its local weather forecasts and in “News morning” the weather becomes more in-depth. Even in the evenings, there is a change in the form that the forecasts in the news broadcast at 10 pm are taped and not broadcast live, according to an internal email.
The change means that meteorologist Linda Eriksson, who has worked on the channel for over ten years, is forced to quit.
This was announced by Johanna Thulin Bratten, program director Samhälle at TV4, in the email to the employees on Wednesday.
“The new schedule means that our need for meteorologists is reduced and as a result Linda Eriksson will end up with us,” writes Thulin Bratten in the email that Expressen has seen.
“Väder-Linda’s” own words in the box
The email states that Eriksson did his last day of work on Wednesday.
“Linda has been a fine colleague and a valued meteorologist by both the viewers and us at TV4. The reason why she is leaving has only to do with redundancy and we will miss Linda here at our place,” writes the program manager.
In Wednesday’s 22 broadcast, Väder-Linda said goodbye to the viewers.
– And with that I say thank you for the very last time actually, and wish you a good night, Eriksson said.
