Liljeholmsbron is stuck in the raised position
On Thursday evening, the Liljeholmsbron in Stockholm got stuck in the raised position.
Technicians were called to the scene and it would take just over an hour before the problem was resolved.
– It has been standing still there for 40 minutes, only one side is working, Markus Barkarmo, who lives nearby.
It was at 6:52 p.m. that the Swedish Transport Administration sent out a warning that no vehicle traffic could pass on the Liljeholmsbron. According to information from the scene, the bridge had become stuck in the raised position.
– There are usually many ambulances that go to Södersjukhuset, so there will be a bit of chaos if something happens, says Markus Barkarmo, who lives nearby.
Markus further explains that both parts were in an upturned position, but that one half of the bridge did not want to be lowered.
– The cars are standing still there so I can only imagine the queue. I can’t see it now, but there are people from Liljeholmen who are going over and they have to start turning around, he says.
At 7:45 p.m. the bridge was operational again.
