Sweden’s Gabriel Landeskog shone on the ice with two goals and an assist as his Colorado crushed Montreal 7-2 at home.
Right from the start, Colorado showed that they dominated the match. The team opened with a goal in the eighth minute and shortly afterwards Gabriel Landeskog made sure to secure the 2-0 lead.
At the end of the second period, the 33-year-old was there again and played teammate Nathan MacKinnon, who scored the team’s fifth goal with a wrist shot.
In the end, it was also Landeskog who scored the last goal of the match in the seventh minute of the last period.
– The players fight hard and play well. We’ve been competitive and committed pretty much every time the puck is released. I would say we have made a good effort here. Hopefully it can continue like that, but it’s not easy to win in this tournament, Colorado coach Jared Bednar said after the game, according to nhl.com.
