Is dating a former Tre Kronor player

ÅHUS. Sofia Jakobsson, 35, has a new partner.

The European Championship player is together with former Tre Kronor player Fredrik Warg, 46.

– We’ve been seeing each other for a while, says Jakobsson.

Sofia Jakobsson is at the national team camp in Åhus ahead of this summer’s European Football Championship in Switzerland.

Before the collection, Jakobsson was on vacation and pictures on social media showed that she was vacationing with Fredrik Warg.

She confirms that the two are a couple now.

– Yes, we are. We have been on vacation, says Jakobsson.

Two World Cup tournaments

Warg played in the SHL for Modo, Timrå, Skellefteå, Rögle and Brynäs and also played one season with Dinamo Riga in the KHL. He also played in two World Cup tournaments with Tre Kronor.

The fact that both Jakobsson and Warg are and have been elite athletes helps the relationship.

– You know what it’s like to be an athlete. I live in London and he lives in Stockholm, so it’s clear that distance isn’t always great, but at the same time it’s very easy to understand. It works very well, says Jakobsson.

She has family members who are expected to come to Switzerland to watch the European Championship.

– Incredibly fun of course. It’s always fun to have family and friends and loved ones come and watch, she says.

“Awesome bet”

Jakobsson is no longer a starting player in the national team but would very much like to be included in the squad for the European Championship.

– Of course you see an end to your career. Unfortunately, it’s not forever. It’s clear that it’s a special championship and could be the last. So I’m going to try to enjoy wearing these clothes a little extra, says Jakobsson.

She is most recently coming off a season where she scored 3 goals and 5 assists in 16 games for London City Lionesses. The club, where Kosovare Asllani also plays, was promoted to the Women’s Super League.

– It’s a cool investment and incredibly fun that we went up. It will be fun to see how we stand now in the top league, says Jakobsson.
