Gyökeres’s nobs Saudi giant salary

Earlier on Sunday, Foot Mercato reported that Saudi Al Hilal had Viktor Gyökeres, 27, on their radar.

According to French L’Équipe, the club has reportedly given the Swede a salary offer of 35 million euros, approximately 385 million kronor at today’s exchange rate, in addition to bonuses.

But Gyökeres reportedly refused.

Al Hilal was also willing to pay the transfer fee Sporting demands. But the Swede is reportedly fully committed to continuing his career in Europe.

The French newspaper writes that Al Hilal, who have Simone Inzaghi as their new coach, want to make a strong impression during the upcoming Club World Cup, which is one reason for the strong interest in Gyökeres.

After his success at Sporting, Gyökeres is one of the world’s most sought-after players. Clubs such as Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG, Juventus, Napoli and Atlético Madrid have all been linked with a move.

Sporting is expected to demand around 780 million kronor for Gyökeres, as the club has a verbal agreement with the Swede that he will be sold for a lower amount than the buyout clause of around 1.1 billion kronor.
