“Go or stay, you have lost our respect”

Supporters vandalized the mural and removed the star’s face.

Nico Williams, 22, was instead replaced by a clear message:

Respect is lost, no matter what choice he makes this summer.

Williams was raised at Athletic Club and has made a big impact in recent seasons, becoming one of the hottest players on the transfer market.

Recently, rumors of a move to FC Barcelona have intensified, with transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reporting that a transfer for Nico Williams is already in principle complete.

This has led to the Basque club’s supporters taking action.

On a mural in Bilbao where Nico Williams, older brother Iñaki Williams and faithful servant Iker Muniain take their places, only the latter two remain.

“You have lost our respect”

Nico Williams’ face has been removed and replaced with the message “Go or stay – you have lost our respect”

The club has condemned the action.

“A club’s dignity is also reflected in how it protects its own. Therefore, those who have erased the image of Nico from the mural do not represent it,” Athletic Club writes in a press release.

The club: “Disrespect”

“And if they think they are part of our family, they should know they are wrong: to show disrespect to one of our own is to show disrespect to all of Athletic”

The club also emphasizes that contact has been made with the artist and that Nico Williams’ face will appear on the wall again.

The quick-witted left winger really introduced himself to the big crowd during the European Championship last summer when he won gold with the Spanish national team.

In addition to Barcelona, Bayern Munich is also said to be showing strong interest in the 22-year-old.
