There is a fire in the historic Villa Godthem restaurant on Djurgården in Stockholm.
– There is a fire in the roof structure, says Kurt Holm at the rescue service.
The restaurant building, which is mostly made of wood, was built in 1874. The emergency services received the alarm at 01 o’clock on the night of Tuesday.
– There is a fire in the roof structure and we are trying to put it out. It first burned in the facade, but then it got to the eaves, says Kurt Holm.
No one should have been injured.
– I have not received any information that there will be any personal injuries, says Kurt Holm.
The emergency services carry out a major operation at the scene. The fire is not under control.
– We are working hard here now, there are a number of cars there trying to contain and extinguish the fire, says Kurt Holm.
The police have launched a preliminary investigation into arson.
– The progress of the fire has come towards the facade from the outside. Then there are witness statements that there must have been a bang in connection with this, says Jari Kalliorinne at the police.
