News, reports and analyzes in Sweden and the rest of the world.

Last autumn, the watershed, provocateur and declared cult Eddie Meduza was celebrated with ten concerts at the Nöjesteatern in Malmö.

The last one, which was in November, ended in court, writes Sydsvenskan.

After the concert, a group of friends stood in the toilet queue and sang Meduza songs.

Right at the lines “Josefine, do you want to suck my task”, a 33-year-old resident of Malmö came out of the toilet.

The man thought the words were directed at him – and confronted one of his friends.

A commotion ensued and the 33-year-old bit one person’s finger, pulled another by the hair, scalped and pushed his fingers into the eyes of a third.

When a guard appeared, he too was punched in the face.

“Offended and jumped on”

Only when the police showed up and arrested the 33-year-old did he understand that it was all a misunderstanding, the newspaper writes.

During the trial, the man explained that he felt “offended and jumped on” and believed that he acted in self-defense.

– He looked at me when he said “you can suck my cock”. Then I push him up against the wall and then his friends come and interfere, he said in court according to Sydsvenskan.

The district court found that it was the 33-year-old who started the scuffle and he is sentenced to six months in prison for three cases of assault and one of violence against an official.

He must also pay a total of SEK 60,000 in damages, writes Sydsvenskan.
