Even though the storm Amy ravaged outside, Diana Wigenstam and Daniel Jansson set out on an evening stroll last Saturday with his 1.5-year-old Schäfer Laika in Oxelösund. After the walk, Diana left the dog with her dad and went away for a while.

When she came back, something was not right with Laika, which SN first noticed. The otherwise so skinny shepherd did not come and greeted the master and math.

– She usually gets super happy when we get home. She couldn’t cope and wobble around, says Diana Wigenstam.

“Winged more and more”

The couple prepared food and shouted for the otherwise hungry dog. But she never came. Laika lay in bed and could not pallet.

– We thought we would go out if she needed to pee or something but she was just winged more and more, says Diana Wigenstam.

They called the veterinarian who thought they would come in at once. Laika was then left during the night at the veterinarian for tests.

The next day came a shocking message.

Tested positive for THC

– We received a text message in the morning that she had tested positive for cannabis. It was really scary, says Diana Wigenstam.

The next day Laika was still tired, but after another couple of days she was back to her usual self. However, the incident has left traces in the couple.

– You got really worried. We get there and they say “she seems drug -affected” you think how can it even be possible?

How Laika got Thc in it is unclear but the couple believes that Laika during the walk to something from the ground that had the substance itself.

– We never noticed that Laika chew anything in themselves, they must have gone really well.

After the incident, Diana Wigenstam and Daniel Jansson have warned in both the local Facebook group and in a dog group to keep an extra eye on the dog and always go in if it feels bad.

The incident has been reported to the police.
