A couple have been named who suspect that a certain Tiktok trend inspired the young people.

The couple, who live in Flen, began to experience the problem in the summer of 2023. For Hem & Hyra, the man tells of unknown perpetrators entering the staircase and then kicking hard at their front door.
– We live downstairs so it’s easy to run from there, says Flensbon to the newspaper.
Suspect Tiktok trend
The man suspects that it is a Tiktok trend called the “Door Kick Challenge” where you kick hard on a front door and then run. It has previously been reported about the viral challenge in other parts of Sweden but also in the USA.
– The footprints on the door show that they are kicked backwards. I don’t know for sure, but I think that Tiktok has inspired the young people, says the man to the newspaper.
The kicks are not the only couple that have had to endure, but they have also tried to throw large stones at the front door – but missed.

Reported to the police
The harassment was reported to the police, but the investigation was dropped. The couple also turned to their landlord and wanted the gate to the apartment building to be closed earlier in the evenings.
The request was initially denied, but after turning to the rent board, the municipal landlord has now chosen to lock the gate at 6 pm instead of 9 pm.
The attacks against the front door have mainly taken place during the summer.
– Now I think it will be calmer next summer, says Flensbon to Hem & Hyra.
