On Thursday afternoon, a couple of thousand electricity customers were still without power, mainly in Gävleborg, but also in many other places around the country after the storms of the past few weeks, according to the data of the major electricity grid companies. And that was before Thursday’s 24-hour snowfall along, among other things, the Norrland coast.

In the event of a power outage of at least twelve hours, compensation must be paid automatically, corresponding to at least SEK 1,200 or 12.5 percent of the annual electricity network cost. In the event of a 24-hour interruption, the compensation increases to at least SEK 2,400. At the most, the customer can receive three times the annual fee if the power outage lasts for a long time, twelve days, in round throws SEK 30,000 or more for a villa owner, depending on how much electricity you usually consume, according to the websites of Vattenfall and Eon, among others.
