Trump resumed his trade war with China on Friday and accused Beijing of introducing “extremely aggressive” new export restrictions on so -called rare earth metals.
Trump announced extra tariffs – as well as export checks on “critical software” – which will come into force on November 1. Trump also threatened to cancel a meeting with China’s President XI Jinping at the Apec summit in South Korea later this month. It would be the first meeting between the leaders since Trump returned to power in January.
