Big win for Malmö against Djurgården
Djurgården suffered its first loss of the season.
It was a big loss.
Malmö FF won 4–0 at Eleda Stadium.
Djurgården’s goalkeeper Anna Koivunen kept her team in the game in the first half, but in the end even she couldn’t resist.
After a great game, which included a penalty save, Malmö FF pulled away on the scoreboard.
Two-goal shooter
Isabella D’Aquila opened the scoring for MFF and she then became the two-goal scorer when she made it 3–0 in the second half.
With the big victory, the women’s Swedish newcomer MFF bounced back after an away loss against Vittsjö before the international break.
Djurgården lost their first match this season and will lose the league lead to Stockholm rivals Hammarby if Hammarby wins against Vittjsö on Sunday.
Smooth table top
It’s still a tight race for the top spot in the women’s Swedish women’s team after just over a third of the series has been played.
The top five teams are within three points of each other. A margin that could be even smaller once all teams have played their matches in the tenth round.
