Arson attack on villa in Grästorp – after previous shooting

A villa in Grästorp in Västergötland was the target of an arson attack on Tuesday night.

A shooting took place in the same residence last week.

Two people have now been arrested after the attack, writes TT.

The police and emergency services were called to the address shortly after 4:30 a.m.

The house was empty at the time, and no one was injured in the incident. The case is being investigated as arson.

Last week, a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed after allegedly coming to the scene armed and firing several shots. He was then shot in the leg by one of the residents of the house.

According to information provided to Aftonbladet, the boy has connections to the criminal network Foxtrot. However, there are no suspicions that the residents of the house have any connections to gang conflicts, according to the prosecutor.

The police are looking into any possible connection between that incident and the fire.

– It is natural that we will investigate this connection, says Magnus Schildt, press spokesperson for the West Police Region.

On Tuesday, TT reported that two people had been detained after the attack.

Explosion in Lidköping

A couple of hours earlier, at 02:00, a small fire occurred in connection with an explosion at an apartment door in an apartment building in Lidköping. The National Bomb Protection Unit was sent to the site, which has been cordoned off for a technical examination, but the police’s initial assessment is that it was caused by a flammable liquid.

An elderly couple was in the apartment at the time, but no one was injured.

Because Grästorp and Lidköping are close geographically, the police will investigate whether there is a connection between all three incidents.

– It’s a puzzle that must be put together by our investigators, says Magnus Schildt.
