Traffic accident on highway 70 – passenger car on fire

Two cars have collided on national road 70 just north of Sala, at the height of county road 765. According to the police, both vehicles must have overturned and ended up upside down in a field. One of the cars caught fire heavily after the crash.
– Passers-by managed to get the driver out of the burning car. It was probably a bit difficult to get out, says Magnus Jansson Klarin, press spokesperson at police region Mitt.
A total of two people were involved in the accident. One of the drivers was taken to hospital by ambulance. The person is awake and talking, but it is otherwise unclear how serious the injuries are.
– It was quite dramatic on the spot, says Jansson Klarin.
Emergency services, an ambulance and several police patrols have worked at the scene. The road between Sala and Avesta has been closed in both directions, but traffic is now being released alternately.
– Hopefully, things will get going quite well soon. It is the salvage that can have an impact, says Jansson Klarin.
The police do not have any criminal suspicions at this time.
