MIAMI. Before Jake Paul’s boxing matches, it is usually himself who is responsible for drama and the most controversial.

But this time he lies in the lee.

Anthony Joshua stands by what he said.

It started with Anthony Joshua making a statement the other day before the fight against Jake Paul.

– If I can kill you, I will, said the two-time world champion about his less experienced opponent Jake Paul.

Words that infuriated Joshua’s compatriot Tyson Fury, 37.

– He is getting a little old to talk such crap. He’s at the end of his career, and is going to meet a YouTuber – a Disney Channel guy – like Tommy [Fury] beat, he says in an Instagram post.

– And now he’s talking about killing him and all that to try and sell the match…please. You’re out riding, idiot.

– If I ever come across you, you sop, I’ll knock you. I’m not a YouTuber or someone who weighs half as much as you. I am him. The man. You big sweep, useless slacker. I can’t wait for Jake Paul to knock you hard.

During last night’s press conference, Joshua was asked questions about his statement and Fury’s reaction. And Joshua stands by his words about “killing” Jake Paul.

– It’s my job, we fight. We have a license to kill. When you’re in the ring, it’s dangerous. Anything can happen. You hope that your opponent leaves the ring unscathed, but if he doesn’t, you still have to go to bed knowing that you only did your job. It wasn’t personal, says Joshua.

And when it comes to dancing with this language, Jake Paul is not slow to dance along.

– I’m ready. I want his hardest punch. I want there to be no excuses when it’s all over. Let’s kill each other, says the American.

Despite the coarse language, which many consider to be over the line for boxing – Joshua says he has been “called in to save” the sport.

– They want me to put an end to the Jake Paul circus, and I understand that. That’s why I have to carry the boxing on my shoulders in this match, he says.
