Anna-Karin Hatt opens for coffee with Jimmie Ã…kesson

Anna-Karin Hatt has had lunch with the Prime Minister and coffee with Nooshi Dadgostar.

And now the Center Party’s new party leader is opening up to have coffee with Jimmie Ã…kesson.

– I won’t mind, says Hatt.

When the new Center leader Anna-Karin Hatt was questioned by Expressen’s political commentator Viktor Barth-Kron in Almedalen, a famous meal came up. The one when Ebba Busch ate meatballs with Jimmie Ã…kesson before Almedalen Week 2019. Something that Barth-Kron believes foreshadowed the Tidö collaboration and the change of government in 2022.

Last week, Nooshi Dadgostar posted a picture on her Instagram account where she was seen having coffee with Anna-Karin Hatt.

“About etiquette”

When asked if it is this year’s “meatball lunch”, Anna-Karin Hatt answers:

– No, not if you draw the parallel to the Christian Democrats’ meatball lunch with the Sweden Democrats. It’s simply that I am the new party leader and am returning to politics. I have had breakfast with the Prime Minister, I have had lunch with the opposition leader Magdalena Andersson, I had a coffee with Nooshi. And I have had a coffee with Amanda Lind too.

– I will definitely meet Simona Mohamsson, says Anna-Karin Hatt and believes that it is completely natural.

– As a new party leader, it’s just common courtesy to greet and talk to each other. It doesn’t mean that you have much in common politically or have any political plans for the future.

“Won’t mind”

When Jimmie Ã…kesson visited Expressen’s stage in Almedalen on Tuesday, the SD leader said that he had not been allowed to drink coffee with Anna-Karin Hatt.

But now the Center Leader opens up to have a coffee with Ã…kesson.

– If Jimmie wants to have a coffee, I won’t mind. I’d be happy to have a cup of coffee with all the party leaders in the Riksdag. I think it’s part of the etiquette.

At the same time, Anna-Karin Hatt is clear about how she views cooperation with the Sweden Democrats.

– The Center Party has been clear for a long time that we will not seek any organized cooperation with the Sweden Democrats. That line applies going forward. And when it comes to going to the polls, it is on our substantive policy that we go to the polls. Ask for strong support and then try to implement it during the mandate period, says Hatt.
