Soldiers shot near White House

Two US National Guard soldiers were officially reported to have died in a shooting near the White House in Washington DC. Moments later, West Virginia’s governor backtracked, saying they had been reached by conflicting information.

Donald Trump describes the shooting as an “act of terrorism”.

The suspected shooter has been identified as Afghan national Rahmanullah Lakanwal, according to multiple news outlets.

Due to the shooting, the White House has been placed on lockdown as a precaution.

– The White House is aware of the situation and is actively following the tragic event, says press secretary Karoline Leavitt in a statement.

Alarm about an explosion in Örebro

The emergency services have been alerted to an explosion outdoors at a villa in Mellringe in Örebro, Nerikes Allehanda reports.

– Something has exploded and there is some material damage. We are there to get clarity, says Jan Matérne, commander at the police’s regional command center, to the newspaper.

No one was injured and no suspect has been arrested.

– If you have observations or information, you are welcome to contact us, says Matérne to NA.

The alarm was received by SOS Alarm shortly after 11.30 pm on Wednesday.

A preliminary investigation into public-dangerous devastation has been launched.

Fire in stairwell – perpetrator hunted

A fire started in a stairwell on Skepparegatan in Norrköping late on Wednesday evening. The police have launched an arson investigation.

– It is an unknown perpetrator who has entered and started a fire, says the police officer on duty Björn Wessman.

No one has been injured. The police are chasing the perpetrator.
